As the start of the year jitters are coming to an end and everyone settles into school routines, keeping up with cute but comfortable outfits is super important to stay organized. Here are the top five ways on how to dress to impress for college!
Wear Real Pants
Trust me, I know grabbing sweatpants can be tempting when you are running late for class, but putting on a pair of jeans or even a light pair of linen pants will keep things comfortable while elevating your style. Distinguishing at home comfy clothes from clothes you wear out in public is incredibly important for your mental health and will make you feel much better about taking on the day.
2. Accessorize
Adding a nice pair of earrings or a funky necklace is bound to elevate your look from one that’s boring to one with a little more class. Jewelry is super important for looking put together and allows you to express yourself in a unique way.
3. Wear Sets
If you must wear comfy clothes to class, a set is a great way to have a clean look. Wearing a set will have you looking more put together than if you grab the first two articles of clothing in your closet. Additionally, sets can be great for working out after class. Although sets are often very casual, try upgrading the look with a sweater or cute sneakers to tie everything together.
4. Use Layers to Your Advantage
Especially in the winter, layering can be a great way to make your outfits more interesting and stylish. Whether it's adding a color of similar tone or introducing a new pattern or texture, layering can elevate how interesting an outfit can be. Staple pieces like a leather or denim jacket can make an outfit much more interesting.
5. Wear what makes you feel confident
The best way to dress to impress in college is to show off your authentic self. Wearing what makes you feel confident shows off aspects of your personality and can help you become a part of organizations and clubs that you want to join. In addition, wearing things confidently will in turn make you more confident.
